    Few racing names stir passions quite like Carol Hall Shelby. Born in Texas the one time chicken farmer elbowed his way through the ranks of American racing drivers to gain a seat in Aston Martin¿s DBR1 in which he famously won Le Mans alongside Roy Salvadore in 1959. His Shelby American race team ran the Ford GT40 which won Le Mans in 1966 ¿ immortalised in the film Le Mans 66 - and the following year too. But it is his Shelby Cobra which to many made his legend: a US/UK muscle car that looked out of its time but somehow became one of the most famous cars ever made.
